Surround Yourself With Beautiful Things That You Love!

As one of my motto's, I do love this saying! But when it comes to surrounding myself with beautiful people that I love, I think I could take my own advice a little more often. *Make no mistake, I mean Beautiful in the sense of their personality, not looks! Anyhow, I recently noticed that on my personal FB page I had hit over 200 "Friends". How can this be? I asked myself.. I am constantly on FB, and I talk with tons of my peeps that I absolutely love love love to be in contact with, and hear from! The rest, well, not so much. From fear of "hurting" someone's feelings, or whatever the case may be, I don't delete people even after I realize we have nothing in common or that their personality just doesn't mesh with my own. I was keeping some people on my Friend List even after I "hid" their posts b/c I just couldn't deal with the Drama or their Poor Me attitude. Yes, I am a Positive Patty! I just don't dig people who don't take responsibility for their own actions, have a shitty moral code, party like they're still on college when they're pushing 40, and have no follow through! If you're such a Debbie Downer that you're constantly bitching about your life and how crappy it is, and why/how it is always someone's fault other than your own, why would I want to be around that?!? Have some Personal Accountability!
I can't change people. I'm not interested in trying, to be honest. That's their problem! How I let it effect me, that's my problem! To keep toxic people around, when I have no reason to, just to avoid dealing with it, is just silly. I have no problem confronting a problem head on, so why couldn't I confront my issues with my "friends", even if only by not allowing them to sully my otherwise sunshine-y outlook on Life, Love and the Pursuit of Happiness? Now, I don't need to personally contact every person I have issues with and run down a list of why I am not interested in them as a "friend". But do I need to keep them around? NO.
I finally hit Delete today, and man did it feel good! I got rid of peeps that I don't converse with, people who I felt only added me to up their Numbers, and people who have Toxic personalities. I may have "hurt" someone's FB feelings, but seriously, it's FB. If we have never spoken, other than our original Add as Friend, why am I keeping you around and vice versa? You're just chumming up my News Feed, Bro!
I Love my Life. I Love my Husband. I Love my Family, True Friends and my Pets. I Love my Surroundings and the challenges the Universe throws at me. Am I perfect? Hell no! Do I need to be? Not at all! Is my Life 100% Fabulous all the time? Not even close lol. I'm not even Perky all the time. But mostly I am. Deal with it, or move on, it's your choice and I certainly won't cry over you hitting the Delete button if that's what you feel is best for you!
Live your Life to the fullest and surround yourself with Beautiful things that you Love. And that definitely includes the people in my life, whether on FB or in real time.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things! *& a Few Not So Fav

I'm in a Fashion Frenzy tonight, having spent hours scouring the sales at Designer websites and sales sights like:
Ideeli CLICK HERE www.ideeli.com/invite/ZenBetty  and
Awesome sites, and I managed to snag a Lovely Cocktail Ring for $12 and a wicked cool tote bag for $24. After using credit I had, I paid $26 for $80 worth of loot!
I love Designer, but I hate paying retail, and these sites are perfect for such times. :)
Now that I've Raved, back to the Rant(s)... A few things I noticed while shopping online, that I just don't care for:

1. Empire waistlines Ack! If you're 12-21, by all means, go ahead. But other than that, no thank you. Especially if you're over 30, you'll look like a misplaced Prom date. I bought some strapless ones a few years ago, never wore them and then took a loss when I sold them on Consignment. *I bet a 15 year old bought every one of them!
2. Bubble Dresses Just no. Enough said. Being super thin, you would think I would love anything that added curves, but those types of curves are not what I am looking for. *They make me think of Snookie, from Jersey, and she is not a Fashion Role Model, by any means.
3. Wearing Multiple Trends (All At Once!) Seriously. Jimmy Choo and Ugg, I am talking to YOU! Yes, Animal Prints are super hot. Yes, Metal Chains are awesome. Yes, Fringe is in as well. But all on the same shoe? Shame on you! Yuck. I always thought Jimmy Choo was beyond reproach. I was wrong...
4. Dumpster Appearance Models You may be modeling a hooded sweatshirt, but it is a sweatshirt/hoodie you want me to pay $300+ for. Glam it up a bit Ladies! No need to look like you crawled out of the dumpster.
5. Derby Sized Crochet Hats All that glitters is not gold! Example (see Right).
What is that on her head? It looks as though she has the Evil Eye... The brooch alone may be ok, maybe as a headband or barrette. But with the slouchy, over sized crochet hat, it's a tad silly.

There are many more things I could rant about, but it's about time to Power Down.
If you want to tell me why I am wrong on these topics (and more!) hit me up and we can discuss at length.
*I'm afraid I won't budge on the Empire Waistlines though lol...

Oyasuminasai!

There are thousands of causes for stress, and one antidote to stress is self-expression. That's what happens to me every day. My thoughts get off my chest, down my sleeves and onto my pad.” - Garson Kanin

Stress. STRESSSSSSSS. No matter how you say it, it just makes me want to break out in a cold sweat! Being an individual that suffers from Anxiety Attacks and Depression, Stress is something that causes me to simply shut down. I stop eating, I become anxious, I chew my fingernails, I get irritable the list goes on....
I constantly look for ways to alleviate stress in my life. Exercise, vacation, sex etc. But it's not easy to get rid of! And this economy? Oh man, this lack of money to pay our bills is just crushing. I know many of you out there are experiencing the same thing..
I have to say, finding a job in this market, has been supremely TOUGH! And now, with the troubles I am currently dealing with, it's nigh on IMPOSSIBLE! I try not to spend much time on the Pity Pot, but once in awhile it gets to me. I just don't seem to understand the system. Isn't the Gov't supposed to want us to prosper and grow?
I am under major stress. So much so that I cannot even finish this blog.
*I don't really know the purpose of this post. But maybe it'll make me, or even one of you, feel better.
Even if only for a second!
Lots of Love

The knIT Grrl's Knitting Circle ~ Part 1

I guess it's time for me to spin another yarn, it's been far too long since I've blogged.

This weekend will be my first ever Knitting Circle! I'm hosting one for my friends and family at the beach house tomorrow, and Golly am I excited! *You can probably tell by the exclamation points...
I'm new to knitting, but have always thought it looked like fun. I started a couple of months ago, using books, needles and yarn I had bought last year when I first thought of giving it a try. I have a fantastic book: "The Cool Girl's Guide to Knitting" that is just super informative, with pictures and vivid descriptions to help ease in the beginner. I also used Mrs. Moskowitz's videos on YouTube, they were a wonderful way to visualize what my stitches should look like and where I should place my hands.
I have yet to make an actual project, as I have been spending my free time watching videos, reading books and practicing basic stitches and what to do when you drop a stitch etc, before trying my first garment. I know I am going to make mistakes, so I may as well make them during a practice session... It's easy for the most part, but I have yet to figure out quite how to read the patterns. It's not like sewing, which I am already familiar with. The shape of objects makes sense, but the instructions about how many rows to knit/purl confound me and heaven forbid it requires pockets! :o
I am sure to be blogging about knitting more and more, as I begin my journey with one little stitch. I invite people to share knitting ideas, tips, tricks etc. If you're interested in joining our Circle, contact me directly.
As a woman looking for better relationships with her friends, this seems like a step in the right direction.
*Next up? The Orchid Society!
